Sir,
Enclosure 2
C.O. 1413!
Government Civil Hospital,
Hong Kong, 30th March, 1899.
I have the honour to report that E.P.C., R. Thomson, No. 26, is at present in hospital suffering from a stiff ankle joint.
I recommend that he be granted six months' leave so that he may return to Scotland to undergo an operation for the relief of this condition.
We would not be justified in opening the joint here and it is just possible that an operation might be successful at home.
